UltraTools allows you to define the desired startup conditions including how the motor and application-specific parameters in the drive are assigned at the servodrives powerup. The servodrives volatile Random Access Memory (RAM) will be restored at powerup from the Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory ( EEPROM ) resident in the servodrive.
UltraTools consists of three major components, each working individually or in concert with the others:
- UltraLink is a communications environment that provides communication directly to the servodrive through its RS-232 serial port.
- UltraScope is a digital scope that takes advantage of the sampling abilities of the G Series servodrive to provide visualization of the motion in the system.
- UltraEditor is a text editor that is used to edit any of the various text files are used with the G Series servodrive.
FlexROM Upgrades
FlexROM (Flexible Read Only Memory) technology includes the ability to electronically update the drive’s firmware through the P1 serial connection for easy upgrades.
